Kia EV6 2025

Our 2025 model year.

Built on the new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Kia EV6, alongside the Hyundai Ioniq 5 are the first examples of a bevy of new Hyundai and Kia BEVs that will launch over the next few years. Kia has conceived its first E-GMP-based model as a crossover. A single 84 kWh power pack powers all models. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive delivered via dual motor setup. Range is 513 kilometres for the rear-wheel drive model. No range is available for the all-wheel drive car. Kia notes that the EV6 can be charged using an 800 volt charger, a technology not generally available in Canada. No range details are available for the 2025 EV6. Unlike the retro-inspired Ioniq 5, the EV6 is clean, uncluttered and arrestingly modern. The EV6 is marginally shorter overall than the Ioniq 5.

As of late 2024, there were no pricing or trimwalk details on the delayed 2025 EV6.

Not rated, insufficient data. Few complaints have been received regarding this fearsomely complex car. Some battery pack failures reported on the related Hyundai Ioniq 5.

What’s new this year?

The EV6 undergoes a mid-cycle update for 2025. Changes include a new front fascia, lights and grille. Kia notes that the revised front end aligns the EV6’s looks with other Kia models. The rear end of the car has been revised and the rocker mouldings as well. The cabin has been revised with renewed trim, a new centre console design and updated navigation that will take over-the-air updates. Mechanical updates involve a battery pack capacity growth from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh. The structure of the car is said to be stiffer than before and there have been changes to the suspension and steering. Additional sound proofing has been said to enhance refinement. The charge port has been relocated to the left rear fender of the car and Kia have adopted the NACS-Tesla port. Production of the car has moved from South Korea to Georgia in the United States. The GT trim adopts the powertrain from the Hyundai N supercar, which has 601 horsepower (641 HP for short bursts) and has “pretend” modes that introduce a sound profile like a high-performance gasoline engine accompanied with false shift points.
