Infiniti QX50 2025

No changes of note for 2025.

The radical 2L variable compression ratio turbo four is quick, flexible and quiet enough when accelerating gently but is unrefined for a luxury vehicle when pushed hard. The QX50’s CVT transmission works very well. The turbo four demands premium fuel. The QX50’s steering is slow and numb but nicely weighted. Ride is smooth over small individual bumps but loses its composure over larger surface imperfections. Confident handling.

All-wheel drive is standard on all QX50 variants. The base trim, the Pure, is equipped with a forward collision warning, autonomous emergency warning, reverse auto braking, blind spot and lane departure warning, a power tailgate, wireless cellphone charging and fog lights. Stepping up to the Sport trim delivers a different front fascia, a 360 degree camera system, navigation, enhanced ambient lighting, ventilated front seats and a Bose-branded audio system, but is significantly overpriced. The Sensory trim adds genuine maple wood trim, heated rear seats, a memory system, four additional audio speakers and alloy cabin speaker grilles, and is priced to reflect the value of the additional content.

A four-door coupe, in the German manner, is sold as the Infiniti Q55.

Reliability should be average for the first few years but typical Nissan deficiencies like short-lived ball joints, exhaust systems and items like air-conditioner compressors and electrical components. The complex variable compression engine does not seem to be holding up with a number of failures reported.
