Honda Accord 2025

Our 2025 model year.

The 1.5L turbo four is the base engine for the Accord in Canada. While a hybrid Accord was previously available in a sporadic fashion for years, the current one is a serious effort and posts over half of Accord sales. At a time when Toyota is unable to supply Camry hybrids to eager customers in a time-frame that buyers can wrap their heads around, Honda has done well supplying cars to buyers who gave up on Toyota. The 2L, normally-aspirated four combines with the electric motors to create 204 total system horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque.

With a full active safety suite, alloy wheels, a power driver’s seat, sunroof, heated front seats and steering wheel and L.E.D headlamps, the base SE trim, the only Accord offered with a conventional power train, is nicely equipped. Moving up the Sport Hybrid includes a trunk spoiler, alloy pedals, a leather wrapped shift knob, leather seating, a power passenger seat, a wireless iOS-Android cellphone interface and wireless cellphone charger in addition to the hybrid powertrain for just $2500, a bargain. The Touring Hybrid range topper is equipped with an auto dim rearview mirror, a head up display system, ventilated front seats, a Bose-branded audio system, and the Google Built-in interface, is priced to reflect its value. Accords, even the hybrid, is readily available, a big contrast from the comparable hybrids from Toyota and Hyundai.

Above average reliability has been a feature of previous Accords. However, reports of engine turbo wastegate failures on Honda’s 1.5L turbo is a concern. Waranty coverage on the turbo and intercooler ends at three years/60,000 kilometers. Honda seems to have addressed the intitial issues with poor running and no heat in cold conditions on 1.5L turbo in a satisfactory fashion. The hybrid powertrain appears to be reliable.
