Audi Q3 2025

Our 2025 review is below.

The Audi Q3 is built on the Volkswagen A.G.’s ubiquitous MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten) architecture. The Canadian version of the Q3 is exclusively all-wheel drive (Quattro in Audi speak) and powered by two versions of VW’s 2L turbo four. Audi’s nonsensical numbering system denotes the lower power unit as the “40”, with “45” used for the more powerful Q3. The sole transmission offered is a conventional eight-speed automatic. Styling of the Q3 is still fresh, and unlike a number of Audis like the current A4 and Q5, it is obvious that the Q3 is a contemporary vehicle. The Q3’s cabin is very chic and constructed from attractive materials.

The 184 horsepower model is sold available with the base Komfort trim. Moving up to the 228 horsepower version of the Komfort costs $2100, seems hardly worth the effort. The Komfort trim, with leather seating, a power driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, heated seats and steering wheel, L.E.D. headlights, parking sonars front and rear, and a forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, is comprehensively equipped. However, blind spot and rear cross traffic monitors are not offered but active cruise control is optional. The Progressive trim upgrade adds alloy cabin trim, sports seats, alloy pedals, a power passenger seat, blind spot and rear cross traffic monitors, Navigation is extravagantly priced and active cruise control is still optional. The Technik range topper includes navigation, traffic sign identification, a Sonos-brand audio system, active cruise control and auto-fold door mirrors. The Q3 is roomy for four, looks fresh and modern, and is a good substitute for the frumpy and ancient-looking Q5.

Predicted reliability is average at best for the first three or four years, declining after that. Turbo wastegate failures are being reported by owners. There is no powertrain warranty past the four year 80,000 km basic warranty.
