Acura ADX 2025

The ADX is an Acura-branded version of the Honda HR-V. The exterior styling of the ADX is unique but many HR-V cabin components are repurposed. The sole engine is Honda’s 1.5L turbo four. Power reaches all four wheels via a CVT.

Built on the same platform as the Honda HR-V, the ADX is essentially the same size as its corporate cousin. The strategy of offering an Acura version of a Honda nameplate was successful back in the days of the original Integra, but recent attempts, like the current Integra, have launched into a disinterested market. Acura has actually made enough exterior styling changes to let the ADX sell as a separate product. Compact luxury-branded crossovers are a popular market segment and Acura must feel compelled to participate in it.

Acura swaps the normally-aspirated 2L four found in the HR-V with the 1.5L turbo four that is ubiquitous in the Honda-Acura model range. Unfortunately, Acura, in an ego quest to post a 200 horsepower figure, Acura has cursed owners with the need to use premium fuel. Power reaches all four wheels via a CVT. With a forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure, blind spot and rear cross traffic warnings and a lane-keeping system, the ADX features a comprehensive active safety suite.

Except for the windshield and door windows, the ADX has unique exterior styling elements including Acura’s trapezoidal grille and shapely headlamps. Inside, the ADX employs the main dashboard structure , infotainment and climate controls from the HR-V but uses a unique digital gauge package and centre console. The ADX also replaces the continuous ventilation panel of the HR-V with conventional air vents. A panoramic sunroof, unique to the ADX, is standard. Cabin photos indicate that the cabin fittings of the ADX are luxurious.

With a comprehensive active safety suite, a wireless version of the iOS-Android cellphone interface, wireless cellphone charging, a power tailgate, a heated steering wheel and a dual-panel sunroof, the base ADX is well equipped. Moving up to the A-SPEC adds ventilated front seats, a power passenger seat, a luggage area cover and fog lights. The Platinum Elite A-SPEC includes a Bang & Olufsen-branded audio system, Google built-in (which precludes integrated navigation), a 360 degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, more power seat directions and power-fold mirrors.

Predicted reliability is average to above average reliability. The 1.5 turbo engine powering the ADX has not been an unqualified success as some turbo failures have been reported as have head gasket issues.
