Nissan Murano 2024

Our 2024 model year review is coming soon. Below is the 2023 review which is anticipated to continue with few changes.

The current Murano avoided the retro themes expressed in the previous Altima and Sentra but is perhaps too flamboyant a shape for some. The inside is more conventional and follows styling themes explored in several recent large Nissan products. Big, clear gauges and straightforward minor controls will be easy enough for owners use. The chief “out there” aspects are styling details like the light interior hues, including light-colour faux wood accents. Interior fit and finish are very good. The seats are very comfortable front and rear, and legroom is competitive. The Murano is powered by Nissan’s ubiquitous 3.5L V6 that is mated to a CVT automatic. All-wheel drive is standard. Towing capacity of 680 kg (1500 lbs.) is low for a V6-powered vehicle of this type.

The Murano is powered by a smooth V6 which is a nice change from the sometimes raucous turbo fours powering competitors. With L.E.D. headlamps, rear parking sonar, alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and heated seats, the base SV trim is decently equipped. The SL adds front parking sonar, heated rear seats, fog lights, leather seating, garage door opener, ambient lighting, a power passenger seat and a Bose-branded audio system, and is reasonably priced. The Midnight Edition is devoid of any valuable content for the money asked. The Platinum range-topper adds Semi-Aniline leather, ventilated front seats and a memory system and is good value if you want the equipment,

Not rated, insufficient data. The CVT transmission could exhibit reliability on higher mileage examples, especially on vehicles used for heavy towing, after the five year/100,000 km powertrain warranty has expired. Short-lived and expensive-to-replace ball joints will likely cause Murano owners grief. An extended powertrain warranty from Nissan is recommended if you plan to keep your Murano long term but pricing is high, making leasing a good alternative.
