Chevrolet Traverse 2025
The new Traverse was soft-launched last year but is in full production now. The companion vehicles, like the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave, are also available.
The new Traverse looks bulkier, edgier and much more truck-like than its predecessor, reflective of Chevrolet’s contemporary styling lexicon. The painted triangular accent between the second and third side window is very odd. The driver faces a digital gauge display, to the right of which, is a large infotainment screen that sits over the highly-mounted centre console. Being of XXL dimensions, cabin and cargo space are ample.
Power stems from the same 2.5L turbo four as in the Acadia and produces 315 and 328 horsepower, depending on the model. All-wheel drive is standard and the sole transmission choice in an eight-speed automatic.
Like many new vehicles, the Traverse ended up so expensive that it has moved beyond its traditional market slot and its established customers.
The base LT trim, with all-wheel drive, a full active safety suite including a forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot and rear cross traffic monitors, active cruise control, reverse auto braking, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, remote starting and wireless cellphone charging, is well equipped. Moving up to the Z71 trim include a twin-clutch all-wheel drive system, hill descent control, a 360 degree camera system and rear pedestrian braking, but is significantly overpriced. The range topping RS trim included ventilated front seats, a power passenger seat, L.E.D. headlights, auto-dim door mirrors, L.E.D. headlights, a panoramic sunroof, leather seating, a power-adjustable steering wheel and GM’s SuperCruise limited self driving system and is priced to reflect the value of the additional content.
Insufficient data as this is an all new vehicle with an unproven engine. The basic warranty on the Traverse is three years 60,000 kilometers, with five years/100,000 kilometers on the powertrain.
