As of January 1, 2016, Ontario residents who put winter tires on their vehicles are eligible for a 5% discount on their auto policies under the APA`s group auto insurance plan (savings vary, depending on the insurer). This is a significant incentive that will help to cover the annual installation cost of winter tires. You may be asked to provide a proof of purchase.
If you’re in the market for winter tires, be sure to check the APA’s winter tire reviews. Now is a good time to buy, as several brands are offering discounts of $40-$70 on a set of four tires, until December 15, and we’ve obtained some very competitive prices from three participating Consumer’s Tire locations. Debbie Arnold at Sound Insurance informed us that rates for the APA group in Ontario were adjusted to be even more competitive. The group insurance plan is offered to current APA members who are Ontario residents, and applies to both home and auto policies. In cases where the quote under the APA plan isn’t competitive, Debbie can offer insurance via a different carrier, as per the working arrangement with the APA.
